Here are some pictures I picked up from the internet, that I know are of Studio 50. The control room shot shows the first Sullivan director John Wray. He had been a dancer before becoming a director. I think he left the show when Bob Precht, Sullivans' son-in-law, became producer pushing Marlo Lewis out. The Gleason pictures are all in Studio 50. Notice the prompters. I also saw The Garry Moore Show, which aired on Tuesday nights, in Studio 50. This was the show that discovered Carol Burnett. I believe Julio DiBennedeto dircted that show. I have a few scripts from that show as well as a Sullivan script. When I started working at CBS in 1966 I got to know the Associate Director at that time, John Moffitt. He was a real nice guy who went on to direct the show as well as many other variety and comedy programs. he is still active. At one time my position had me booking videotape and film facilities for Sullivan. I really enjoyed having a small part in the show. The two color shots in in studio were of a special CBS did called "Model of the Year". They did it for two or three years . Hugh O'Brian was the host and Rona Barrett was also on the show. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
