ABC Edit room - This photo is the reverse of photo #140 located elsewhere on this website. At the switcher is the late Hank Wolf. He was a prominent member of the New York video community and a leading CMX editor at CBS. Jeff Lang, a pioneering CMX editor, (pictured to the right, at the CMX 300 console), is still a highly regarded CBS news editor. The "ABC" room (named after the machine designations VTA, VTB, & VTC), was the "on-line" part of the light-pen based non-linear off-line CMX 600 editing system. It was developed by CBS and Memorex Corp. in the 1960's and early 1970's. CMX was then spun off to commercialize the system.
